Jurgen Klinsmann, the former US football coach, has spoken to Liverpool's management to reassure them about the form of their young midfielder, Florian Wirtz.

Wirtz, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool, has been in fine form for his current club, Bayer Leverkusen.

Klinsmann, who has connections with both Liverpool and Leverkusen, has spoken highly of Wirtz's abilities and has urged the Liverpool management to keep a close eye on him.

Despite the interest from Liverpool, Wirtz has stated that he is happy to stay at Leverkusen and continue to develop his skills.

It remains to be seen whether Wirtz will eventually make the move to Liverpool or stay with Leverkusen, but Klinsmann's endorsement has certainly put him on the radar of the Merseyside club.
